Count Tyszkiewicz’ Palanga
Palanga – one of the oldest cities in Lithuania, recently celebrated its 750 anniversary, however what Palanga is considered to be today, appeared much later.
J. Basanavičiaus Street
No matter how contradictory J. Basanavičiaus Street is considered, until now it is one of the main attractions that bring people to the resort.
The Sea Bridge
The Sea Bridge is sometimes considered as the unofficial symbol of the town of Palanga.
Seashore Regional Park
It is a protected Lithuanian seashore territory between Klaipėda and old Palanga. Area of the park is 5033 ha. Approximately half of the park territory is in the sea (about 30 km²).
As in all of Lithuania, in the village areas are plenty of farms. Among them are quite a few horse farms.
The Sun Stone
You can see the unique amber piece called the Sun Stone at Palanga Amber Museum. The Stone weighs as much as 3.526 kg and is the third heaviest amber piece in Europe.
The Summer Capital
The life of the resort town has changed significantly after 1921 when Palanga was returned to Lithuania.
